Queensland State Archives
Queensland State Archives is established under section 21 of the Public Records Act 2002 as the State's archives and records management authority. It manages the State's archival holdings and facilitates public access to the State's cultural and historical records and is the lead agency for State and local government recordkeeping in Queensland.
Queensland State Archives is the custodian of the largest and most significant documentary heritage collection in Queensland. These include records of State and local government, the Courts, Commissions of Inquiry and statutory authorities. Of particular interest to family historians are immigration and land settlement records, school admissions, wills, intestacies and divorces.
