Australian Institute of Genealogical Studies Inc.

AIGS was established in 1973; a family history resource centre that promotes and encourages the study of genealogy, heraldry, family history and allied subjects throughout Australia. The AIGS maintains a reference and research library to assist members and the general public. It also contains an archive devoted to the history of Australian families.

The AIGS conducts regular meetings, courses of lectures and seminars covering various aspects of genealogy and family history. Members make records and indexes of monumental inscriptions and other genealogical source material and regularly publish the results in microform, CD, DVD or in the AIGS quarterly journal, The Genealogist.

Our library is open to both members and visitors researching their family history.
