Alfred Deakin Prime Ministerial Library
The ADPML has been established to celebrate the significant role played by Alfred Deakin in the formation of Australia's political and social institutions. It is located on the ground floor of the Dennys Lascelles building at the Geelong Waterfront Campus of Deakin University.
The ADPML collects books read by Alfred Deakin and other materials about him, his family and his life and times. There is an open access reference collection relating to Alfred Deakin, Australian history and politics, genealogy and local (Western District) history.
The ADPML also operates as the focal point for Deakin University Library's Special Collections of rare books and manuscripts. The ADPML reading room is used for the consultation of these materials. The Special Collection strengths are in the areas of natural history, scientific voyages, domestic science, Western Victoria and the Pacific.
The ADPML has an associated exhibition gallery, which houses a variety of art exhibitions and historical displays throughout the year.
