Historical Woolscour Association Inc

The Blackall Historic Woolscour is 3 Km north of the township of Blackall on the Matilda Highway. It is a steam driven wool washing plant with a 20 stand shearing shed attached. (operates on Steam from May to the end of August). You will see all machinery working throughout the year. Also attached to the project are the out building associated with the shearing shed, which can be viewed on a self-guided walk. Centenary celebration next year on the 24th May 2008. A day of activities planed, including Elder Olympic, patchwork display, stalls, processions, vintage cars and machinery, cake cutting shearing demos and live entertainment.


The collection consists mainly of historic machinery and buildings, large boilers, steam engines, wool washing troughs, large steam driven dryers, historic wool presses and dumping machine and a 20 stand shearing shed and associated equipment.
