Boondooma Homestead

Boondooma Homestead is a heritage site, first settled in 1847. The original homestead is still standing and has been restored to lock up stage. There is the Stone Building which is believed to be the first metric building built in Australia. We also have a museum and entertainment area where we hold our Spirit of the Bush Balladeers and Heritage Muster every year. Next year it is held from 23rd April to 27th April,2008.

The Boondooma Homestead was built in 1847 and the Stone Building was the first metric building to be built in Australia. We are a small group attempting to preserve the original site of white settlement in the area and the surrounding history. In addition, we are promoting local cultural activities on the site. The museum contains photos of the first settlers of the homestead as well as the families that were born raised here.
