Lawrence Historical Society

Lawrence Museum is housed in the former ABC 2NR Radio Broadcasting Station in Merton Street, Lawrence (under the big mast), and was officially opened in June, 2004. As well as historical memorabilia of the Lawrence district, we have a significant collection of communication equipment. There is an original settler’s cottage in the grounds and a dairy and jails dating back to the early 1900’s have recently been relocated in the ground and rebuilt by volunteers.

This unique museum features the history of early Australian radio and communications. It also houses items of local history making it a very interesting place to visit.
