The Hahndorf Academy is a regional centre for the arts and heritage set in the historic town of Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. Based in a charming 150 year old building the Academy incorporates four galleries, a migration museum, artists' studios, art classes and a retail gallery
The museum contains information and artefacts relating to the German migration to South Australia in 1839. Household items, farming equipment, school books and photographs give visitors a glimpse of life before the introduction of the modern appliances we take for granted. .
The Academy's collection also includes a series of orginal charcoal drawings by renowned landscape artist Sir Hans Heysen.
