Sydney Observatory, Museum of Applied Arts and Science

Built in 1858, the Observatory features a new 3D virtual theatre, historic and modern telescopes, the exhibition 'By the Light of the Southern Stars', a planetarium, telescope viewing of the night sky and a fascinating selection of astronomy and space programs.


Extraordinary collection of astronomy and timekeeping artifacts are displayed and demonstrated. The historic timeball is dropped every day at 1pm.
