The Power Station Museum and Water Interpretative Centre

This centre commemorates the unique Burdekin Water Resource, the Inkerman Irrigation Scheme and Power Station commissioned in 1922, and the successful management of both ground and surface water into the new millenium.


The hisorical collection in this centre interprets the dedicated work by all who have contributed to posperity in the district by innovative development of a most prescious asset - water. Exhibits interpret Queensland's largest dam, mightiest river system, and first large-scale irrigation scheme.
