Logan Art Gallery
Logan City Council opened Logan Art Gallery in 1995 as a community based initiative which celebrates Logan and Queensland artists and provides a dynamic program for residents and visitors who enjoy the visual arts. Exhibitions change every month and the program seeks to explore the diversity of art making in Australia. Priority is given to Logan artists' work.
As part of the Queensland network of regional galleries, the Logan Art Gallery shows a mix of touring exhibitions, local artists' work, visiting artists and permanent collections. The gallery is the home of the Logan Art Collection.
The Logan Art Collection brings together works by artists from Logan, Queensland and across Australia. The collection aims to be reflective of the time in which we live. Works celebrate the creativity of Australia's artists and explore what could be described as the 'spirit' of Logan City and the diversity of its residents.
Many works were acquired from the Logan Art Award (no longer operating).
The collection incorporates the "Logan: A Sense of Place Collection" which brings together artists' ideas and impressions about aspects of the life and history of Logan.
