AIATSIS Thesauri
Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Subject Thesauri
The AIATSIS thesauri contain headings for language group and people, subjects relating to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studies, and place names. These headings are used to describe all items held in Mura®, the AIATSIS Collections Catalogue.
The Language thesaurus is a tool for searching the AIATSIS catalogue, it reflects both historical and contemporary modes of classifying Australian languages, it is not a definitive AIATSIS language classification.
